Life Keeps Moving!

Life keeps moving and I need it to stop for awhile!

As most of you know, Tim and I have been diligently working towards financial goals set by the Dave Ramsey program. I wasn’t a big fan at first. I thought it meant that we could not finish the basement or go on a vacation. I was wrong. This plan is meant so that we can do all of that and more and to honor God in ways we have not done before. I now understand why Tim is so passionate about this plan. We are working toward many things now and I must say it is coming along nicely. When we both put our minds to something and have a plan—watch out!

"If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else."
— Dave Ramsey

Another really great thing that came out of the Dave Ramsey program is the idea of meal planning. My friend Tina told me about E-Mealz one time and then we learned more about it through the Dave Ramsey plan. Once we looked it over, it was a no-brainer. It has been one of the best decisions we have made. I do not get stressed over what to make for dinner anymore.

This summer has been busy and has flown by. Our good friends Andrew and Erlen were in town the last weekend in July. They have a new baby girl - Lauryn. She is just precious. We went to Como Zoo that Sunday and spent all day there. It was absolutely hot and we were all sweating all day, but we all made the best of it.

Caleb is doing very well. Daycare is great. He is learning a lot there and the most importantly he is learning about Jesus.  When we sit down to dinner Caleb wants to say the prayer by himself. It’s pretty darn special.

We are looking forward to fall—my absolute most favorite time of year! We will finally get Caleb in swimming lessons and maybe some Tae Kwon Do or Karate. Caleb will soon be 4 years old. We cannot believe how fast he is growing. You know, you go through summer and have shorts on him every day, then all of the sudden there is a cooler day in which he wants to wear pants and none fit! That is when you realize how fast little ones grow.

Caleb has another post-op appointment on Tuesday.  Please pray that he does not have to go through another surgery.  We will find out on Tuesday if he does.

Memorial Weekend

We went to friends Eric and Christine's house for the annual Memorial Day party.  We spent a good portion of the day/night there.  We let Caleb stay up and play until about 11:30pm.  I was a bad Mom and did not get a lot of :pictures.  They had a bouncy thing and Caleb loved it.  He loved their toy room too and found a helmet (did I ever tell you he is obsessed with helmets?)  I found out that this helmet is from Speed Racer, which made me laugh even more.  I remember that when I was a kid (even though I know they redid a movie in the last years).  He would not take it off.  If I made him take it off I had to hold it while he went off and did something else.  Then he came right back to put it on.  This was the first time he was around a lot of kids he did not know and he made me proud.  He loved every minute of it and was very respectful.

So that was Saturday...  Then we got up on Sunday late because of the late night and got prepared to go up toward Hinckley, to my sisters cabin.  We got there and Caleb was all excited to see his cousins and have fun.  We weren't sure what we were going to do, but we sure filled up the day.  Tyler took his test to drive the golf cart and passed that day so he got to drive us all around.  We went on the paddleboats, went swimming, grilled and had a good day!  This was the first time that Caleb went swimming "on his own".  Tim was there, but he wanted to do everything himself.  It was a 2 foot pool that he got to show off his skills--his daredevil skills.

He would go under and stay under a while and scare me (I was standing outside the pool taking pictures) and then he would come up laughing!

Then we got to spend Monday with Chad, Steph, Weston and Levi.  We grilled, talked and Weston and Caleb ran through the sprinkler.  That was fun to watch.  I got a chance to hold Levi for awhile and be outside for Weston too.

It was a great long, exhausting weekend.  Caleb is still recovering as I have to wake him up each morning and he falls back asleep.  This weekend we do not have anything planned and he wants to go swimming and jump!

Caleb's newest nephew was born on Saturday, May 21st and is healthy!  Went to visit at the hospital late that night.  Caleb was a little crabby so we left after such a short time with them.  We got to spend a good portion of this last Sunday with Steph, Chad, Weston and Levi, though.  More on that in another post.

Where are they from?

Our furbaby Romeo, is no longer with us.
